Discussion, Evaluation and Analysis of Rough Cut
Below is the rough edit version of our soon to be finished film trailer. In this cut we haven't yet included the title of the film, the studio and production logo's or reviews but they will be added later on. Another decision we are still working on is whether to keep any dialogue, however we have created a soundtrack to accompany our film, but this is not yet finalised.
Furthermore, there are lots of things still to change and develop within the trailer. Firstly, lots of scenes need to be cropped, cut or changed. For example, I feel that the hunting scenes and some of the party sections are too long. Because of this, the trailer decreases in tempo and if it is too slow audiences might lose interest. To help this we are also going to add a montage towards the middle of the trailer, including a mixture of the footage. As well as this, we want to use a larger variety of transitions between shots with different effects. Other things that can be improved upon are the narrative slides at the beginning of the trailer. The words 'Lose It' need to move forward closer toward the viewer. We have also discussed taking out the mirror scenes as we didn't always think they serves much symbolic purpose or helped with the narrative. The same applies to the black van shot. Another critic I have is with the walking away shots as at the moment they appear too similar - they are meant to show the character slowly moving away from the camera.
With all this in mind, we can continue editing and refining our ideas to get our end product.
